As an ASA certified business, we use state of the art diagnostic & repair equipment and our highly trained technicians believe that you and your car are our first priority. Contrary to popular belief, your car’s warranty will NOT be voided if you take it to someone other than your dealer.
Our Award-Winning Technicians
Our technicians are all certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence which was established in 1972 as a non-profit organization to help improve the quality of automotive service and repair through the voluntary testing and certification of automotive technicians and parts specialists.
Steve Shelton started the business in 1985 and has over 40 years in the auto repair industry. Steve is L-1 and ASE Master certified. In 2010, Steve was selected as Identifix/ASE Aftermarket Drivability Technician of the Year, one of only 38 auto technicians recognized by the ASE. Prior to establishing Japanese Auto Service, Steve served in the Marines, specializing in aviation electronics.
In 2005, Steve’s son, Ross, came to work full-time at Japanese Auto Service after a stint in the Marines where he specialized in aviation electronics, working on helicopters. Ross is ASE Master Certified.
Aaron “Doc” Jones has been working on cars since he bought his first car and realized he couldn’t afford to pay someone else to fix it for him. His dad bought him a set of tools and he has been tinkering on cars ever since. A native Coloradan, Doc enjoys backpacking, camping, and all the other things Coloradans like to do. Doc says that fixing cars is not just his job, it’s also his hobby. And since he’s an emissions diagnosis test expert, Doc can figure out exactly what your car needs to get cleaner emissions test results.
Andrew Mues has 16 years of experience working on cars and trucks. He was the Super Stock Rookie of the year in 2010 at the Colorado National Speedway. He still races.

Zach Thompson is the son of our longest-serving employee, Anthony. We’re happy to have him here at Japanese Auto Service. It’s almost like cloning Anthony. Auto mechanics is in his blood.
